Will I be charged sales tax?
Based on the parameters set by the Wayfair Decision in 2018, many states require us to charge sales tax. You may use the "Shipping and Tax Estimator" in the shopping cart for a tax quote. If you believe you qualify for tax-exempt status, please submit your qualifying documents to Info@Backdrop.com BEFORE placing your order so that we may update your tax settings in our system.
I am tax exempt, how do I get this applied to my account?
If your company qualifies for a tax exemption, this information is required prior to placing the order. Please submit your tax-exempt certificate to info@backdrop.com. Include any necessary information such as the email you will be using to place the order. The account linked to that email address will then be updated to reflect your tax-exempt status. Once you have received confirmation for our team, the order can then be placed.
Please ensure you are logged into your account before completing the checkout process. This will allow your tax-exempt status to be automatically reflected when completing your order.
I am tax exempt, why am I still seeing tax in my cart?
If you are tax exempt and still seeing tax in your cart, here are some important points to consider. Firstly, ensure that you are logged into tradeshowbooth.com using the account associated with the tax-exempt status, for which the necessary documents were provided.
Please note that tax exemptions only apply to orders being shipped to the states where the relevant tax-exempt documents have been submitted. If the order is being shipped to a different state, taxes may still be applicable. Double-check the shipping address to confirm it aligns with the tax-exempt status.
If you have taken all these steps and still encounter tax charges inappropriately, we recommend reaching out to our customer support team for further assistance. They will be glad to investigate the issue and help ensure your tax-exempt status is appropriately applied to your account prior to placing your order.
Can tax be refunded from my order after is it has been placed?
Once an order is made, tax cannot be refunded. Please reach out to our sales and support team at info@backdrop.com to apply a tax exemption to an account for future orders.
If the order has not yet been approved for production, our support team can help with having it canceled and a new order can be placed once the tax exempt status has been updated. Our full Terms of Service can be found HERE.
