Artwork FAQ's
Can I place my order even if my artwork isn’t ready?
Yes! Placing the order is always the first step, followed by uploading your art files. We recommend placing the order as soon as you are ready and then following up with the artwork once it has been completed. Artwork can be uploaded at any point after the order is placed and the order will never move forward until we have received the graphic files.
How do I ensure my colors are correct?
To ensure the closest color match to the digital proofs, please create all artwork in CMYK as this is the printing format that will be used. If your design includes black, it's best to use Rich Black (C75 M68 Y67 K90) for optimal results. Creating art files using True Black may lead to the prints appearing grey or washed out.
Where do I upload my artwork?
Artwork can be uploaded after an order is placed using the ‘upload files’ link on the top right hand corner of the website, or using the link found in the confirmation email. To avoid unnecessary delays, please make sure to provide the correct order number when uploading your files.
I'm having trouble uploading my art files to the website, what can I do?
Artwork files can also be uploaded through WeTransfer using display.wetransfer.com instead. Please be sure to include the order number and latest possible in-hand date in the comment section when uploading files via WeTransfer.
Will I receive proofs to approve before my order gets printed?
Always! Digital proofs will be sent via email within 1 business day of uploading print ready artwork. An order will never be put into production until final approval is given on the artwork.
What is the proofing process?
Once print ready artwork has been uploaded, you will receive 2D digital proofs back within 1 business day. Our graphics team will check to ensure the file is the correct size and for any pixelation. Once proofs are sent, please have a careful look over them before you approve directly through the link in your proofs email. Once we receive final approval, your order will be sent to the production queue and changes can no longer be made. It is important to note that no edits to your artwork will be made during the proofing process. If you require help with editing your artwork, design services will need to be purchased. However for small edits, the full design fee may not be required, please email us at info@backdrop.com to request a quote.
Do you Pantone match?
Yes! We do offer a Pantone matching service for our standard products. The first Pantone color call out is complimentary, with each additional color charged at $25 each. However, we do require editable files in order to proceed so I graphics team can make any necessary adjustments to match the Pantone. Please note that the only Pantone Colors we can print are SOLID COATED Colors.
As our printing process is highly accurate, Pantone matching is generally not necessary aside of match Brand specific colors. Please ensure to specify the correct Pantone color code and let us know that a Pantone match is needed. Pantone match may add 1 business day to the order and is not available for rush orders.
Do you offer fabric samples?
If you would like to see a printed sample prior to ordering a complete display, we offer hard copy proofs HERE. This will be a 12” x 12” section of fabric with your custom printed colors. An art file will need to be submitted for the sample. We do not suggest shrinking down your full graphic but instead selecting a section that highlights your most important colors. Alternatively, you can create an art file with blocks of color that you would like to see printed.
Please note that the sample needs to be printed and shipped for your review and approval before the full display goes to print. This will increase the timeline for your order.
The cost of a hard copy proof is $70 but that amount will be deducted if an order is placed for a complete booth. If an order has already been submitted prior to requested the printed sample, there would be no additional fee. The cost covers 1 sample, if you have multiple items with different types of fabrics, additional hard copy proofs may be needed.
